Sea Charmings by Sharon Black

Between writing projects, I began creating with seashells.
I was influenced by a shell kangaroo that I had bought as a child in the Hastings Museum in Hastings, Nebraska. It was made in Japan, but I really like it, and I wanted to make something like it.

So, one day I just began creating. I took art in high school and in college, so I had a little experience. Never knowing how it was going to look after, I was pretty happy with the results.

Little girls like the mermaid tails, and the wood letters are popular.

 The Movie is Made

Home on the Range was filmed in 2016 in Smith County and Wichita's Cowtown. It starred Buck Taylor and Rance Howard.

It was an amazing experience to have your project co-written by me, Sharon Black, finally made and shown in movie theaters. But there were many snags, such as an ice storm before the premiere in Wichita and Smith Center.

Meeting Rance Howard was a treat and talking to Buck Taylor was amazing. He was so encouraging.

Also in the movie was Darby Hinton, who is also in Ken Spurgeon's newest movie, The Contested Plains.

Since then, I have written more scripts, and have sent them out into the world.

It was a lot of work to help fundraise for the movie.

Another blog I will share the excitement of researching and finding people who lived during the 1930s who were portrayed in the movie. One incident, I almost fell off my chair!
